10 Things You HAVE to Do at Islands of Adventure

It’s no mistake that you find the word adventure in the title of Universal Orlando Resort’s most daring theme park – Islands of Adventure. This park has eight themed islands featuring thrilling rides, out-of-the-world experiences, and favorite characters. If your family has Harry Potter fans, Marvel Super Hero fans, or Dr. Seuss fans, you will not want to miss these top 10 things you have to do at Islands of Adventure.

1. Fly through the Forbidden Forest on Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure

It’s not surprising the top spot belongs to a Wizarding World of Harry Potter attraction. Join Hagrid on an epic journey as you fly beyond the grounds of Hogwarts castle and cross paths with an array of magical creatures. On this attraction, you get to choose whether you want to ride in the sidecar or on the motorcycle for this adventure.

2. Join the hunt on Jurassic World VelociCoaster

Islands of Adventures’ new ride is VeloiCoaster. This new species of roller coaster takes you on a high-speed dash (can you say 70 mph?!) through the Raptor paddock. If you have a need for speed this attraction is for you.

3. Rage out at 67 mph on The Incredible Hulk Coaster

Volunteer to be a test subject for General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross’s research and your Hulk-like powers will propel you faster and faster on this thrill ride in Marvel Super Hero Island.

4. Blast into Action on The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man

While you’re in Marvel Super Hero Island, don’t miss the chance to swing above the streets, scale skyscrapers, and battle the Sinister Syndicate with Spidey. You will be web-slinging high above the streets in 3-D with this attraction.

5. Enjoy a delicious Butterbeer at the Hog’s Head Pub

No trip to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter is complete without experiencing Butterbeer. Your whole crew will love this family-friendly classic treat that was enjoyed by Harry and his friends in the films. The Hog’s Head pub provides the perfect cozy spot for sipping and relaxing.

6. Take an 85-foot plunge on Jurassic Park River Adventure

One minute, you’re gliding along in your raft. The next, you’re face to face with a giant T. rex. There’s nowhere to turn. He’s bearing down on you and your only escape from his razor-sharp teeth is to take the pitch-black plunge before you. Did we mention it’s an 85-foot drop?

7. Get up Close and Personal with Blue at Raptor Encounter

If you’re brave enough to step up to this electrified paddock in Jurassic Park, you’ll find a clever carnivore inside for a truly unique photo op. Don’t turn your back on him for too long, though!

8. Meet Dr. Seuss’s Beloved Storybook Characters at Seuss Landing

You’ll see more than a couple of “things” in this area. The Grinch, Thing One and Thing Two, The Cat in the Hat, and others can be found here surrounded by whimsical scenery.

9. Get Soaked on Dudley Do-Right’s Ripsaw Falls

Part roller coaster, part water flume, this ride combines the fun of the classic cartoons with edge-of-your-seat action. You’ll slosh your way through twists and turns along with lovably laughable Royal Canadian Mountie, Dudley Do-Right. As you approach a nail-biting 75-foot drop, get ready to whoosh down the track for the biggest splash of your life. Plan to get wet, very wet!

10. Experience the Cuisine of Mythos

The Lost Continent’s award-winning, full-service restaurant offers modern cuisine with Mediterranean, Asian, and American-inspired dishes. You can check out the full menu here.
