Add a Little Magic to Your Visit

VIP Tours

For your next Walt Disney World vacation, if you are looking to add a little extra magic to your visit, I have some great ideas and tips for you. Check out my top five list to create some magical moments for your family.

In Room Celebration

#5 – In Room Decorations & Gifts
You can have a little extra magic delivered right to your resort room to surprise your children or loved ones. Disney Floral and Gifts offers a great selection of “In Room Decorations & Gifts” to add a special touch for any occasion including birthdays, first visits, or anniversary celebrations. This personalized service can include many fun additions including a stuffed Mickey and Minnie, Halloween or Christmas themed gift baskets, birthday Mickey Mouse ears, autograph books, Mickey-shaped treats, and candies, and floral arrangements.

#4 – Fireworks Dessert Party at Magic Kingdom
A reserved viewing area for the nightly fireworks shows at Magic Kingdom is by far the biggest advantage of the dessert parties at Magic Kingdom. I am a fan of these parties and believe they can take a lot of stress off your family in trying to find the best spot to view the show amongst the crowd of people. All parties include a reserved viewing area for the fireworks show as well as a variety of desserts and snacks including chocolate-dipped strawberries, Disney character-themed desserts, ice cream, cookies, cupcakes and some salty snacks including egg rolls and spinach dip. Drink options include cider, hot chocolate, lemonade, coffee, tea, and guests 21 years and older can choose from a selection of beer and wine. There are basically three party options offered nightly. Option one includes dessert prior to the fireworks and offers a reserved seating area to view the fireworks at the Tomorrowland Terrace. The second option also includes desserts before the show and a reserved standing area in the Garden Plaza to view the show. And, the third option is after fireworks show desserts and a reserved standing area for the show. I personally prefer the standing area in the Garden Plaza over the seated Tomorrowland Terrance area. I believe you have a better view in the standing area (honestly, some folks sit down on the artificial turf to view the show) plus if you have little ones the area is enclosed and allows them to move about a little bit while waiting for the fireworks to begin. Pricing varies depending on the party option you select put ranges from $79 – $99 for adults and $47 – $59  for children 3 -9 years old. Reservations with advance payment are required for these parties and can be made 180 days in advance of your first vacation day.

First Hair Cut

#3 First Haircut
Taking the title of Sweetest Experience at Walt Disney World is a First Hair Cut at The Harmony Barber Shop in the Magic Kingdom. For just $25 + tax your sweet little one can get their first hair cut at this quaint little barbershop located on Main Street USA. These wee little guests will receive Commemorative Mickey Ears embroidered with “My 1st Haircut” on the back, keepsake lock of hair, and an Official milestone certificate. Reservations are needed for this experience and can be made 180 days in advance of your first vacation day.

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique

#2 Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique (BBB)
If you have a little princess in your family then you should really consider adding a visit to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique to your vacation plans. This fun makeover experience can add a magical touch for any little princess between the ages of 3 – 12 years old (little Knights can join in on the fun as well). The BBB has three locations at the Walt Disney World Resort including the Magic Kingdom, Disney Springs, and the recently added location at the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. At this fun salon experience, Fairy Godmother’s-in-Training provide hairstyling (there are several options to choose from), makeup, nail color, and receive a princess sash and cinch bag. You can choose from a variety of packages starting with the Crown Package described above priced at $74.95 + tax all the way to the Princess Signature Dress Collection package priced at $450 + tax. Little Knights can participate as well starting with the Knight Package for $19.95 + tax that includes hairstyling with gel and a sword and shield. Add a Knight Costume to this package for a price of $79.95 + tax. Reservations are needed for this experience. Reservations can be made up to 180 days prior to the start date of your vacation.

Private VIP Tours

#1 Private VIP Tours
By far the crème de la crème of all added extra magic on a Walt Disney World vacations, is a Private VIP Tours. These tours are for groups of up to 10 guests and allow you to customize your own tour. On Private VIP tours, you can share your wish list of what you would like to see and do and the experienced guides will customize a tour that completely centers around your wish list. The pricing for these tours is based on an hourly rate with a minimum of seven hours. Pricing can range from $425 to $750 per hour for the group. Some of the amazing perks included in this pricing include the ability to visit multiple parks in one day, VIP viewing areas for parades and stage shows and nighttime spectaculars, and the ability to avoid the long wait times at attractions. The knowledgeable VIP Tour Guide remains with you the entire length of the tour and is known to add special touches like having Mickey Ice Cream Bars waiting for you when you exit a ride.
