Entertainment Not to Miss at Walt Disney World

When you think about Walt Disney World you might picture your visit being full of Mickey Mouse and roller coasters. While there are plenty of fun characters to see and rides to experience, there is quite of bit of great entertainment to enjoy. As you are scurrying about the parks, here is a list of entertainment not to miss at Walt Disney World.

Hollywood Studios
Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage

One of my favorite shows is Hollywood Studios’ Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage. This 30-minute Broadway-style show brings the movie to life. The show is complete with colorful costumes, great scenery, and of course, all the songs you and your little ones love from this movie. This show is only offered a few times a day, so plan ahead to include this in your itinerary for the day.

For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration

Also at Hollywood Studios, is the popular show For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sign-Along Celebration. Although the thought of hearing “Let it Go” one more time might make you want to scream instead of sing, I can ensure you this is a show the whole family will enjoy. Little ones will love seeing some of the thrilling moments from the movie play on-screen in the large air-conditioned theater. Of course, they will also enjoy seeing some of the movie’s favorites including Anna, Elsa, and Kristoff. Grownups will find amusing the humor from the leading two Cast Members, the Royal Historians, sharing their (sometimes not-so-accurate) version of the storyline. Some of their jokes will even make the dads laugh. Throw in a few magical touches plus the whole theater belting at “Let It Go” to wrap up the show, and it really is a family favorite.

Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular

While at Hollywood Studios you can experience a movie set right out of Raiders of the Lost Ark. A little corny and a great deal entertaining, this show gives a behind-the-scenes look at how incredible movie stunts and explosive special effects are filmed. It is fun to watch live as the daring duo of Indy and Marion dodge deadly traps, battles bad guys, leaps from tall buildings and makes thrilling escapes.

Animal Kingdom
Celebration of the Festival of the Lion King

A “must-do” for your Animal Kingdom visit, is the Celebration of the Festival of the Lion King. Located in Africa, this Broadway-style show is filled with the classic songs of The Lion King, pageantry, and puppetry celebrating this classic movie.

Disney Kite Tails

A relatively new show at Animal Kingdom, Disney Kite Tails is held in the water in front of the Discovery River Amphitheater. Larger-than-life Disney character kites launch in the air to the beat of some of our favorite Disney songs. Two different themed shows are offered: The Lion King and The Jungle Book.

Voices of Liberty

This show has been on my favorite list for years. The incredibly talented group of singers that comprise the Voices of Liberty can be found in the Rotunda inside the American Adventure at EPCOT’s World Celebration. They will amaze both little and big guests with their acoustic performances of patriotic favorites and sometimes even a few Disney favorites. Know that you can either sit on the floor or stand around the rotunda while enjoying this show.

Harmonious

EPCOT’s newest nighttime spectacular Harmonious is definitely worth seeing. Now I will be honest, I have not said that about all of EPCOT’s shows but this one will appeal to the whole family. The show combines Disney music, floating giant screens, choreographed moving fountains, lights, lasers, and fireworks to create an amazing show.

JAMMitors

You will find the sounds of the funkiest janitors scattered around EPCOT, but most often they are located near the front of World Celebration (the walkway leading to all the countries). These talented drummers use “found” instruments like trash cans, brooms, and tin cans to create high-energy music and entertainment. The group may be called Jammin’ Gardeners during the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival or Jammin’ Chefs during the International Food & Wine Festival.

Magic Kingdom
Dapper Dans

This lively barbershop quartet can be found performing along Main Street in Magic Kingdom. Disney classics are their specialty plus they throw in a little puny humor and a few tap dances to create a show definitely worth pausing your walk down Main Street to enjoy.

Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor

Is it an attraction or is it a show? Regardless of what category you put Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor, one thing is for sure – it is funny! You will step inside the only laugh factory in Monstropolis into a comedy club hosted by Monster of Ceremonies Mike Wazowski. Be careful though – you may just end up being part of the show!
