First Look at the New Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure at EPCOT

The countdown is on for the October 1 official grand opening of the new Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure at EPCOT. Everyone’s favorite “Little Chef” is making his debut on the 50th Anniversary of the opening of Walt Disney World. This new attraction along with the expansion of the France pavilion is all part of the historic transformation of EPCOT. Let’s take a look at what we can expect to see and experience.

New Attraction

Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure takes you on a culinary adventure based on the Disney and Pixar film Ratatouille. In this delicious new 4D attraction, you’ll feel like you’ve shrunk to the size of Chef Remy as you scurry through Gusteau’s famous restaurant on a wild adventure for the whole family (no height requirement!). The attraction will be complete with sights, sounds and smells (did you know Disney “pipes” in scents or smells to attractions?) for an exhilarating “4D” experience. When Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure initially opens, in order to experience the attraction, Guests will be required to join the virtual queue. A standby queue will not be available at the opening. The virtual queue will be limited and subject to availability.

A Visit to Paris

When you round the corner into this new portion of the France pavilion, you’ll be transported into a fanciful version of Paris that feels straight out of the animated film. Walking from the existing France pavilion into the new mini-land, you’ll find a beautiful allée along the water, designed to evoke the feeling of a Parisian park beside the river Seine. As you take a stroll along this path, made to look like the decomposed granite often found in parks and gardens throughout Paris, be on the lookout for rat motifs in the railing and cast-iron benches that begin to hint at the world of Chef Remy awaiting you around the corner.

New Restaurant

Also opening Oct. 1 will be La Crêperie de Paris, a new restaurant offering both table- and quick-service options. The menu will feature sweet crepes, savory buckwheat galettes (naturally gluten friendly) and authentic French hard cider.

Details, Details, Details

Guests of all ages will enjoy exploring this corner of Paris and discovering details throughout. Like Chef Remy in his toque atop the fountain, or the illuminated Gusteau’s sign in the distance, hinting at the adventure that awaits within the attraction. Take notice of the manhole cover near the fountain, as you may discover an homage to the scene in the film where Remy is first brought to Paris through the sewers.

Nearby you’ll discover Chef Skinner’s scooter and Chef Colette’s motorbike, which make for a fun photo opportunity for fans of the film. These intentional design details, large and small, help immerse guests in the story and set the stage for the experience within the attraction. You can discover these details and more when the expansion opens on Oct. 1, just in time for the beginning of “The World’s Most Magical Celebration!”
