The excitement continues to build as more of the entertainment and shows families love are returning to Walt Disney World! Earlier this summer we saw the return of Animal Kingdom’s popular “A Celebration of Festival of Lion King” and just a few weeks ago fireworks once again filled the skies over Magic Kingdom and EPCOT each night. Now we are hearing about even more entertainment being added back to the schedule at Walt Disney World.
Nighttime Show Returns to Hollywood Studios
Starting August 1, the “Wonderful World of Animation” will light up the night at Hollywood Studios. This excitement-packed projection show will take you on an incredible journey through more than 90 years of Disney and Pixar animation. Your family will watch in wonder as the façade of the Chinese Theatre is magically transformed displaying this stirring tribute to animation. Enjoy spectacular sequences celebrating themes like magic, family, adventure, romance, and friendship. Each theme is brought to life through unforgettable moments from beloved films like Sleeping Beauty, The Incredibles, Coco, and many more.
A Tale as Old as Time is Back at Hollywood Studios
On August 15, a tale as old as time will return to Theater of the Stars on Sunset Boulevard with “Beauty and the Beast – Live on Stage.” The heartwarming tale of Belle and Beast will once again swirl to life in this lush stage performance, with colorful costumes, gorgeous scenery, and the songs you know and love.
Turtle Talk with Crush
Duuuude! Beginning August 21, you can get your most pressing questions answered during Turtle Talk with Crush at EPCOT. The whole family will love this 15-minute live chat with Crush, the turtle from Disney, and Pixar’s Finding Nemo. Through the amazing technology of the hydrophone, he can communicate directly with land-based dudes and dudettes about almost anything that’s on their minds. The show is improvised, so it’s different every time. This is a show that the adults will love as much as the kids!
Monsters, Inc. Returning to Magic Kingdom
You’ll soon be able to visit those monsters of comedy in Monstropolis. Mike Wazowski will begin welcoming humans to the Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor at Magic Kingdom Park on August 8. These scare-acters love to engage the audience. Don’t be surprised if you become part of the show! (Have you ever been “That Guy”?) Inspired by the Disney and Pixar animated films Monsters, Inc. and Monsters University, this attraction scares up some monster laughs.
Magic Kingdom’s Hall of Presidents Reopens
For the past few months, work has been underway to add President Joe Biden to the stage as the 46th President of the United States. Disney Imagineers are putting the final touches on the show and will reopen in August.
“Happily Ever After” Coming to an End
With all the exciting reopening announcements, Disney also slipped in the information that Magic Kingdom’s “Happily Ever After” and “EPCOT Forever” will conclude their limited-time runs at the end of September. Two new nighttime spectaculars, “Disney Enchantment at Magic Kingdom and “Harmonious” at EPCOT, will debut October 1 as part of the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World.
