Perfect Stateroom for Your Family’s Disney Cruise

It’s happening. You’ve decided to go on a Disney cruise and you’re ready to book! But deciding you want to go on a cruise is only the first of many decisions you’re going to have to make. From ship to itinerary to stateroom, there are several choices for you to consider.

When booking your vacation on Disney Cruise Line, you have four stateroom options:

  • Inside
  • Oceanview
  • Verandah
  • Concierge

Within each of these stateroom types, there are additional subcategories as well depending on the specific room size and deck location on the ship. The options can be overwhelming, and if this is your first time on a Disney cruise ship, you might not know which is best for your family. We’re here to walk you through the different options and narrow down the best fit for your perfect family vacation.

Disney Cruise Inside Stateroom
Inside Stateroom (Sleep 3 to 4)

Disney’s inside staterooms are beautifully furnished with luxurious bedding and amenities to create a home away from home atmosphere. There are a queen-size bed and a convertible single sofa. Staterooms sleeping for will also have an upper berth pull-down bed.  Inside staterooms on the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy even have a magical porthole which is an industry first! The magical porthole is a real-time view of the outside world based on where the stateroom is located, offering surprise visits from animated Disney characters.

Standard Inside Stateroom

When you’re looking for the most economical option, a standard inside stateroom is the best fit. It boasts all the usual amenities like a queen size bed, television, safe, but comes as a lower price point since it doesn’t have a view of the outside world and only has a single bathroom. These staterooms have 169 sq. feet.

Deluxe Inside Stateroom

Boasting more slightly more square footage at 205 sq. feet than the Standard Inside Stateroom, the Deluxe Inside Stateroom offers a more spacious living space for your family to relax and unwind. These staterooms also have a “split bath”: a bathroom with a vanity, sink, shower, and tub and a half bathroom with a vanity, sink, and toilet

Oceanview Stateroom (Sleep 3 to 5)

The Oceanview Staterooms are also beautifully designed and very spacious. Some staterooms have one porthole window, while others have two! One of the favorite features of these staterooms is the large porthole window with built-in seating. This is a great spot for family storytime, relaxing, or just watching the waves outside.

Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom

The Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom is similar in size to the Deluxe Inside Stateroom, with one huge difference—there’s a porthole! Enjoy all the comforts of a deluxe stateroom while watching the waves go by right outside your window.

Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom

Verandah Stateroom (Sleep 3 to 5)

If your family likes to sit together and watch the ship arrive at the port each morning or eat room service for breakfast, having a private verandah is a major benefit. Similar to the Inside and Oceanview Staterooms, the room is beautifully designed with nautical themes and family-friendly touches. Many of these rooms are also available as connecting rooms, making it easy to have larger groups rooming together. The verandahs can even be opened up to create a double balcony!

Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah

There’s a queen-size bed, a convertible sofa, and an upper pulldown bed, allowing up to five guests in the room. You get all the benefits of the other rooms, with your own private balcony for you to enjoy some peace and quiet on your vacation. One of the best features on the Disney Cruise Line is the split bath, creating two mini bathrooms to separate the shower from the toilet—making it extremely convenient when the entire family is trying to get ready at the same time.
