Top Dining Tips for Your Next Walt Disney World Vacation

There have been a number of changes to dining at Walt Disney World in recent months. Here are some top Dining Tips to make the most of your time on your next Disney vacation.

Mobile Order

Prior to Covid-19, Mobile Order was an optional feature you could use to add more convenience to your visit. Now Mobile Order is just about a must-do at most (but not all) quick service locations located through the resorts and Walt Disney World parks. A number of quick-service locations will not allow you inside the restaurant until you have completed a Mobile Order and received notification that your food is ready. I will say if you are familiar with the My Disney Experience (MDE) app, Mobile Order is actually quite convenient to use and can save you time.

To Use Mobile Order:

  • On the Home Screen on the MDE app under My Plans select Order Food. Select the quick service location.
  • Click on Order Food. Select the food items to order then click View My Order at the bottom of the screen.
  • Verify the order, click Review Order Summary, and select your payment method.
  • When you are ready just select “I’m Here. Prepare my Order.” You will receive a notification when your order is ready and then head to the Mobile Pick Up window to gather your food.
Quick Service Breakfast at Resort

If you plan to grab a quick-service breakfast at your resort before heading to the park be sure to plan well in advance. More than an hour before the time you want to pick it up your food items you should go online and secure your arrival time. It will get very busy in the morning park rush so the earlier you secure your time the better the chance you have of picking up your food at your desired time.

Dining Reservations are Beneficial

Even though there are reduced crowd levels, having at least one table service reservation a day is helpful and relaxing to your family. Dining reservations can be secured beginning 60 days prior to your vacation start date at 6:00 am online. Because both dining options and restaurant capacities are limited, it is important to secure your reservations as quickly as possible.

Kids Menu Isn’t Just for Kids

Know that often if you aren’t hungry or your tween or teen child doesn’t have a big appetite, many restaurants will allow teens and adults to order off of the Kids Menu. On our most recent visit, neither by eleven-year-old nor I were super hungry at dinner reservation at Coral Reef in Epcot. A quick check with the server and he confirmed that we both could order the smaller portions off of the Kids Menu. Restaurants that are all-you-can-eat family-style will charge anyone over the age of nine years old the adult pricing.

Menus are Available Online

Menus are available to view on both the Walt Disney World website and more conveniently on the My Disney Experience app on your phone. As you are planning your dining before your trip, this is a great way to check out the food selection to make sure the food is ‘family approved.’
