Top Tips for Harry Potter Fans to Get the Most Out of Your Universal Orlando Visit

Whether or not you are an enthusiastic fan of the Harry Potter books and movies, you will probably be amazed and enthralled by the fine details and realistic settings that have been created at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando.  The Wizarding World spans throughout two of Universal’s theme parks; the Hogsmeade section is located in the Islands of Adventure and the Diagon Alley section is located in Universal Studios.

The two Wizarding Worlds can be enjoyed on individual days, or you can purchase a park-hopper ticket, which allows you to commute between the two parks on the same day, by way of the Hogwarts Express.  The Hogwarts Express is an iconic train ride where you can relax and enjoy delightful Harry Potter scenes along the way.

As you make your plan to visit the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, you may want to do a little bit of research before you embark on your exciting adventure.  Below, you will find a shortlist of things that you may want to consider, to make the most of your day, or days, at the Harry Potter-themed parks.

Consider the Harry Potter rides that You Want to Enjoy

At the Islands of Adventure, you will find Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure, and Flight of the Hippogriff.  Flight of the Hippogriff is appropriate for people of almost any age, and for those that are taller than 36 inches.  The other two rides, the Forbidden Journey and Hagrid’s Motorbike Adventure are restricted to people who are at least 48 inches tall.  Both of these rides are a bit more adventurous than some other options, and may not be suitable for everyone in your party.  If you are aware of restrictions before you arrive at the ride, you may be able to avoid some disappointment from those that are not able to participate.

The ride that attracts many people to Universal Studios is the Escape from Gringotts.  This ride is appropriate for guests over 42 inches tall and is considered to be a relatively tame ride.

Arrive at the Park as Early as You Can

If you are staying at one of the Universal Orlando resorts, you will be able to arrive at the theme parks earlier than the general public.  Arriving early in the day will provide you with the best opportunity to avoid large crowds.

Make time to interact with employees and visit the various Harry Potter-themed shops

Did you know those team members who work within the Wizarding World of Harry Potter are required to have a wealth of knowledge about the Harry Potter books and movies?  Consequently, it is fun to engage them in conversation, as you can test your own knowledge of the wonderfully creative series.

The shops within the parks are interesting and project the images that are found in the books and movies.  In Hogsmeade, you will find places, such as; Honeydukes, Ollivanders, and the Owl Post, where you can actually mail a letter to someone.  Diagon Alley offer places, such as Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes, Magical Menagerie, and Scribbulus.  All shops are unique and are worth a little exploration.

As a guest of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, you will no doubt find many exciting things to see, great foods to enjoy, and fun things to do.  Ready to plan your trip?
